while they cut their ties; it doesn't matter we're all infected inside
A sound that confounds me, the water surrounding me
I can't feel a thing but this saltwater sting that has filled my eyes
as I'm tossed to the side

Silently we lifted our eyes

As I lie it covers me
every eye a diamond ring
under the sky everything's new
white blue
My palms turn, turn like the new leaves growing
and soak up the gold that's pouring down
I feel the warmth rising up from the ground
on a shoreline without an end to be found
I find myself gazing at new locations
surrounded by familiar faces
I see a light spill through the clouds above
and every night I'm held by the one I love
The body's cold, surrounded by diamond eyes
no one wants someone they love to say goodbye
But now the sky lifts up this heavy boat
a sea of lights beneath the water moves slow
As I lie it covers me
(there's a warmth that surrounds me)
every eye a diamond ring
(moves around and right through me)
under the sky everything's new
(on a shore white sails are made new
and the water's a brand new color of blue)
